Mark Dickson


Mark Dickson is a Colorado Native, born in Boulder.  He received his B.A. in art from Metropolitan State University in Denver, then entered Pratt Institute, Graduate School of Fine Arts in Brooklyn, NY. He also received his MFA from the University of Denver. 

Then, after teaching for ten years,  in 1980, he left his associate professor position at St. Thomas Seminary College to pursue his artwork full time.

His large scale atmospheric color field paintings have been exhibited widely for the past forty years, including a one-man show in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has exhibited   at the National Academy of Design, and the Denver Art Museum. He is also part of the permanent collections of  The Amarillo Art Museum, The Plains Museum in Moorehead, Minnecsota and The Vance Kirkland Museum in Denver, Colorado.
